Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
50 Years of Franklin
This Year, Franklin Public School proudly celebrates 50 years of learning, belonging and community. Since opening in 1976, our school has grown into a vibrant and supportive place where students are encouraged to thrive, families feel a strong sense of connection, and lifelong memories are created.
Exciting News- Nature Playground!
Miss Rossington met with Darren, our Senior Assets Services Officer, who will be leading the delivery of this wonderful new project at our school. Darren is just as excited as all of us to see this amazing nature playground come to life!
Stay tuned for updates as we bring this fantastic space to our students — a place to explore, play, and connect with nature.
Franklin Sports Representatives
We are incredibly proud of the many students who have represented Franklin Public School in sport so far this year. Congratulations to Patrick on his selection in the Riverina Golf Team, Sophie and Evie for Riverina Basketball, and Sophie on her selection in the Riverina Netball Team. We also congratulate all students who attended the Riverina Swimming Carnival and represented our school with pride and sportsmanship.
Our SRC recently held a “That’s My Team” mufti day fundraiser, where students dressed in their favourite sports team colours. The day was a great success, raising funds towards new basketball nets for our school.
Stage 2 Excursion
Stage 2 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Yarrangobilly Caves. Throughout the day, students explored the incredible cave formations, learnt about the history and features of the caves, and took part in a range of engaging learning experiences.
Student Leadership 2026
Our student leaders recently attended the GRIP Leadership Conference in Wagga, where they connected with student leaders from schools across the region. The day provided valuable opportunities to build leadership skills, confidence and teamwork.
Early Explorers
This term, we welcomed over 20 enthusiastic students to our Early Explorers transition program, where smiles shone and new friendships blossomed as our little learners enjoyed fun activities to help them feel ready for school.
Sporting Opportunity
Our school had the incredible opportunity to welcome Grace Whyte, a talented player from the NSW Swifts netball team. Grace led a dynamic skills and drills session for our Stage 3 students, where she shared her expertise and passion for the game.
Athletics Carnival
Our Athletics Carnival was held across two fantastic days filled with participation, sportsmanship and outstanding achievements. Congratulations to the many students who broke school records and to all students who qualified to represent Franklin Public School at the Highlands Carnival.
Magic Of Wiradjuri Competition
Franklin student Aida Lotter won the Magic of Wiradjuri Photography Competition – Junior Division! Aida was presented with a well-deserved prize, in Wagga during the holidays. She received a camera and her picture on a canvas, for her amazing work among amateur artists.
